Dr. Zehao Shen is a professor in the Department of Ecology, College of Urban & Environmental Sciences and Institute of Carbon Neutrality, Peking University. His researches interest lies in understanding the variations of biodiversity, ecosystem structure and functions across spatial and temporal scales from both geographical and ecological perspectives, especially taking mountains as his research objects. His recent studies focused on the impacts of climatic drought and wildfire disturbance on biodiversity and ecosystem functions, and the influence of climate and human activities on fire regime characteristics in the semi-humid and semi-arid ecosystems in China. Zehao Shen authored over 180 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, he is serving as the editorial board member of four international journals, and also organized eight thematic issues as a guest editor in seven different journals.
