Gudrun Bornette is a CNRS senior scientist at the University of Franche Comté, in Besançon, France. She is the director of the "chrono-environment" lab that deal with all aspects of the anthropocène construction and consequences on global health. Her expertise is in aquatic ecology, focusing on wetland functioning including disturbance ecology and forcing by abiotic factors. She use for this purpose information about the physical components of wetlands and aquatic plants. Her research includes also nowadays the ecological determinants of pathogen occurence in wetlands, focusing on Cholera and antibio-resistant bacteria.
