Xinwei Wu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ecology at Nanjing University, China. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Northwest A&F University in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and completed his Ph.D. in ecology from the Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. His research primarily focuses on elucidating the interrelationships between co-occurring species, and investigating how these interactions influence functions and services of terrestrial ecosystems under environmental change scenarios. Recently, he has developed a particular interest in quantifying the ecological role of soil macrofauna in the decomposition processes of ecosystem detritus such as animal dung and carcasses through a combination of observational studies, field manipulations, and microcosm experiments.
