Yunjun Yao is a professor and doctoral supervisor from Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China. He received a Ph.D. in cartography and geographical information system from Peking University, Beijing, China in 2010. During 2008-2009, he was a Joint Ph.D. Student with the Department of Geographical Sciences, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA. He has (co-)authored more than 150 scientific articles. His research covers ecology, hydrology and remote sensing, including ecosystem carbon and water fluxes, climate change, the estimation of evapotranspiration and retrieval of surface biophysical parameters by remote sensing.
